TradeMaster Calc is a free collection of construction calculators built for contractors, framers, carpenters, and serious DIYers. Every tool on this site runs directly in your browser — no downloads, no signups, no subscriptions required.

Why we built this

The Construction Master Pro has been the industry standard calculator for 30+ years, and for good reason — it works. But paying $40/year for an app that does basic construction math doesn't sit right with us, and memorizing cryptic button sequences shouldn't be a job requirement.

We built TradeMaster Calc to give every builder access to the same calculations — stair layouts, rafter lengths, beam sizing, deflection checks, span tables, and more — with real-time diagrams that show you exactly what you're building. No manuals, no memorization, just clear inputs and instant results.

How the calculators work

All calculations run client-side in your browser using standard construction math formulas from published engineering references (NDS, IRC, IBC). Results update in real time as you change inputs. Every calculator includes a real-time SVG diagram that redraws as your values change, so you can see the geometry — not just the numbers.

Results are displayed in both fraction and decimal formats because contractors think in fractions and engineers think in decimals. An imperial/metric toggle converts everything in place.

Install as an app

TradeMaster Calc is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can install it to your phone's home screen for instant access — it works offline after the first visit. No app store required.
